Jerk Chicken Jerk Fish

Uhm, Thursday, I got up in the late morning, worked, then text Sara about meeting her on Friday. And that’s pretty much it…Luckily my weekend was to get better…

Friday I was at work at 0730, so I managed to arrive at work like ten minutes late…..don’t think anyone noticed mind (y). Work was pretty meh…Actually work was really getting to me Thursday, and Friday wasn’t so fun. I’d been there every day for like seven days. Then I had another six days planned without a break :cry. Also I had Mark commenting on Sara and I. “you were with sara sunday? i’d have gone for her mum as well me”. I ran off laughing, leaving him to talk about it and his self :D . Nothing much happened at work as far as I recall, I got my mum to do me my Saturday morning shift, freeing me up for Hip Hop Happening.

Anyway after work I went home and laid for an hour reading ‘George Orwell – Down and Out in Paris + London’, It’s an account of how poor people lived in France in the early 1900s, and later I assume London too. I’m enjoying it anyway. Then I got a text asking if I fancied meeting early. So I jumped up, and went for the bus. Which of course I missed.

As it was really hot, I fetched a drink then returned to the bus stop. Mark was there then, so I stood chatting to him on the way into town. Then went to meet Sara and Sharon in BBs. We sat in there a while then just walked around town before going for a McDonalds, followed by the bus.

Anyway as Sara and I were approaching her house I felt really nervous, but I got there and it was fine. We just got left alone most the time (y). Her pig and her brother was kinda cute. The dog barked at me though :( . Andy was alright, what little I saw of him, not threatening at all anyway. And Julie…..well Julie was Julie. Anyway we just laid together on the sofa till like one, then I walked down home, didn’t take as long as I thought. (y). Siiiiiiiiiiiigh…

Anyway I woke up this (Saturday) morning, and text tom before getting ready and going out. Went to town and saw Kraig and Ash, so said hi, overheard something possibly interesting anyway. So went to Derby, thought I’d do sensible thing and ask at the tourist information centre for directions to Normanton Park, so I got it pointed out on a map and noticed it was South, so I left the info centre, and headed the way I thought was South. So I was walking for like ten minutes, before thinking something was wrong. So I turned back, checked the map and realised they put South facing up. What the hell is with that? Most stupidest thing I have ever saw.

Eventually having found the right way, (which involved stopping to ask for directions like three times) I got there. There was a decent sized crowd there, and plenty happening. As I guessed no alcohol facilities though (n) and I couldn’t be bothered to fetch any. So I just lazed around listening to the music most the time. Phi Life Cypher was there which I wasn’t expecting, they really impressed me. As anyone freestyling about Asda Orange Juice, would. The dancing looked good too, and there was some whole dancing/rapping/singing mini-musical thing which was kinda cool. Also Jay Sean played and was ok, I’d never heard him before, he’s kinda r’n'b stuff, he did do a rap verse though, which was really quick. Various other people was on during the day…only others I can think of that stood out was Deprogammed though, they seemed quite energetic. Only lasted about ten minutes mind, so couldn’t really judge. Oh I grabbed some Jerk Chicken at one point, which was nice, but expensive.

Anyway I left just before Rodney P and Skitz came on, so bussed it back to the city centre, and then went straight home. Got on the bus and two mongs were talking about the fights they’d had down the town that night. Kinda funny to see hiphop gigs given a bad rep, when I’d just came from one that was virtually (someone threw a bottle on stage), idiot free. Then coming through town I saw girls screaming and grabbing random strangers as they walked past on a hen night, got stared at by a couple of people. Then had those two idiots talking about their fights. And hiphop gigs are dangerous?
