Holiday

// August 4th, 2005 // General

I’ve been off of work this week, and pretty much been off of the web, so apologies to any who noticed my absence ;) ,

Had some lovely days out in the Peak District and other places. I have some photos to follow shortly. And maybe some more meaningful content next week. I have lots of email to catch up on. Enjoying the time off though…

    Then I trust after, “the grand days out,” you’re still interested in what Engel might have to say about herself ?

    I also note, with great satisfaction today, as our government proclaims, “Run away,…,run away…” over the idea of *compulsion* on ID cards. Thanks to NoToID and Liberty they’ve seen the way, in spite of all else, the wind is blowing. Especially when lots of us are prepared to do time.

    What was it this morning in t’Grauniad ? From Tom McNulty, bullshit in chief of this whole asshole enterprise, “We might have been overenthusiastic …”

    J*s*s we just crack ourselves up at their stupidity.

    Apologies David, I meant to get back to you….yes I’m very interested in what Engels has to say, if you could send me an email to dean@this domain with the content once you’ve prepared it, I’d be very gratetful.

    If I recall correctly then Labours punishment for saying “no to id”, is a fine and not a jail sentance – as they do not wish to create martyrs. Handy for any millionaires who do not wish ID too….

    As I see it Tom McNulty – “we lied”. It’s hard to believe that the government can say these things and it causes seemingly none, or little repercussions.

    There’s also this stuff about a “ceiling on the cost”, which is from cuckoo land. Even if there is a ceiling on the cost you pay when you are given it, the rest will be subsidised by the taxpayer. It’s just another piece of spin.

    Interestingly I only just found out that the government can’t use the parliament act to force through any “compulsary ID legislation”.

    Here’s hoping for a strong Lords.

    No apology needed Dean. I was just thinking about Nick Park’s, “Wallace and Grommit” on “grand day’s out.” Like ‘em myself.

    I’ve emailed you – I’m still working on the file. Let me know what you think.

    Later.

    I’ve sent the file.
