Uhm, well Nick came in yesterday and had had bad news, so we decided to go out to try and take his mind off of things, so called in Yates’, they do a curry day thing like Wetherspoons (y). On the same day though (n). Anyway after a drink I was hungry so we walked down to Ali’s had a value box (y) £3 for kebab, salad, fries and two pieces of southern fried chicken (y) it’s the mad notes! So I had mine, then I had like a third of Nicks pizza. Then we went to the Litten Tree, only by this time I was too bloated to drink, so I forced my pint down, then went to The Forester, then had the brainwave of Vodka and Coke (y), so had a couple of those along with an aftershock. Ok, so WOW Doom 3 is absolutely great, I wasn’t too keen at first, though the graphics really impressed me, but about half an hour in I was loving it, it’s really dark, really scary, and I was playing it alone. Uhm, woke up yesterday after like 3 hours of sleep or something…..started playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory again and I was kicking ass, so played like four hours more than I meant too. So after Jack shouted me up about 20 mins before I was due in work, I rushed around and got there. Normal ok day there really, was on the back with my mum for a bit…..and some old woman my mum knows pointed to me, and said to her husband, “that’s jackies husband there”. Crazy old people. (more…)

I ordered a limited edition tee last Thursday from Waxploitation which arrived today, signed and numbered by DangerMouse his self plus I got two free CDs and altogether with P+P from America it cost just £15. Hella sweet. Pity I’m not really liking the tee that much.

Got my Sony Ericsson t68i unlocked (y). RIP Savvy. I quite like it, it’s easy enough to use now I’ve got used to the big jump in technology. Also I can connect to my iPAQ and P.C. with it (y). The P.C. was a bit of a hassle again though :s. (more…)

Non-Prophets – Hope

Non-Prophets is the duo of Sage Francis on the mic and Joey Beats producing. First of all the album sounds different to the other Sage Francis stuff, which is neither for better or worse, it’s just different. Kinda less left-field than Personal Journals was production wise, the reason for this when you listen to the lyrics are quickly evidant. The whole album is all about why the current state of hiphop is wack and talks about to a return of the days of Public Enemy and Krs-One. Indeed it samples Public Enemy several times throughout. There’s a few disses in there too – including Nelly and commercial music in general. Dunno what more i can say really… There isn’t a track i skip on the album – highlights of the album though are Damage, New Word Order and Mainstream 307 probably. I’ll probably change my mind next time.

My reviewing skills are as good as ever i see.
