I’ve decided to give Ubuntu Linux a try, seeing as I’ve not ran a linux distro properly in a few months. The cd I downloaded was corrupted so I thought, that with the aid of Knoppix and chroot I’d do an install over the internet. I’ve got problems running depmod however and so my system starts the linux boot process but doesn’t finish it. After just over twenty four hours, lots of googling and posting in the Ubuntu Forums I’m just going to give up and redownload the cd. At least I’ve learnt how to use grub now.
